Frequently Asked Questions

New to VoiceLK? Learn about the product, its journey and the research behind it.

What is VoiceLK?

VoiceLK is a Sinhala-English text-to-speech product. It grew out of research at Rajarata University of Sri Lanka and is built for text that mixes Sinhala and English.

What does code-switched text-to-speech mean?

Code-switching means moving between languages within a conversation or sentence. VoiceLK is built to turn mixed Sinhala and English text into speech.

What is the difference between Journey and Research?

Journey covers problems we faced, experiments, development decisions and lessons learned. Research presents the findings, evaluation results and outcomes behind the product. Both sections can include audio samples, transcripts, charts and code; not every article includes audio.

Is there a public speech-generation service?

This website introduces VoiceLK and shares product updates and supporting research. It does not currently include a public speech-generation interface. Follow product updates for access and demonstration announcements.

Do I need an account to read product updates?
